Rotary’s Core Purpose
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
- FIRST: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
- SECOND: High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
- THIRD: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life;
- FOURTH: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Pathways to Meaningful Service
We channel our commitment to service at home and abroad through five Avenues of Service, which form the foundation of all Rotary club activities.
Club Service
Club Service focuses on strengthening Rotary clubs. A thriving club is built on strong relationships, active engagement, and effective membership development.
Vocational Service
Vocational Service calls on every Rotarian to act with integrity and contribute their professional skills and expertise to address the needs and challenges of society.
Community Service
Community Service encourages Rotarians to improve the quality of life within their local communities by identifying needs and serving the public interest through meaningful projects.
International Service
International Service reflects Rotary’s global reach by promoting peace and understanding across borders. This includes participating in international projects, building global partnerships, and supporting humanitarian efforts worldwide.
Youth Service
Youth Service recognizes the importance of empowering young people and young professionals through leadership development and service opportunities, nurturing the next generation of leaders.
