26th President, Rotary Club of Indera Mahkota — RY 2009–2010
It is with profound sadness that we remember PP Vadivel A/L Surramanian, a dedicated Rotarian and a cherished member of the Rotary Club of Indera Mahkota.
Vadivel joined the Rotary Club of Indera Mahkota around the year 2000 and remained deeply committed to the Club throughout his Rotary journey. He served as the Club’s 26th President during Rotary Year 2009–2010 and also served as an Assistant Governor during the year of PDG Darul’s leadership.
Before and after his presidency, Vadivel willingly served in almost every position in the Club, always ready to contribute whenever called upon. His commitment to Rotary was demonstrated once again in July 2025, when, despite not being in good health, he agreed to serve on the Board of Directors for Rotary Year 2025–2026.
A truly committed Rotarian, Vadivel was known for his pleasant nature, warm personality and willingness to serve. He was also a devoted husband and a loving father to his three daughters.
Professionally, Vadivel was a Mechanical Engineer, having graduated from UTM, Setapak. In the later part of his career, he worked as an independent welding inspector, primarily undertaking inspection work for oil industry rigs.
Vadivel’s dedication to Rotary, his friendship, and his gentle and pleasant nature will be deeply missed by the members of the Rotary Club of Indera Mahkota, fellow Rotarians, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Om Shanti. Om Shanti. Om Shanti.
